How do I enroll my child in Jackson Saves?

Enrollment takes place at your child’s school during their kindergarten year. Complete the enrollment form and return it with your completed kindergarten enrollment packet to your school’s secretary. If you’d like to follow up further, ensure that your child’s school has checked yes for Jackson Saves in your child’s power school profile.

Do I have to be a TRUE Community Credit Union member to open a Jackson Saves account?

You don't have to be a member to participate in the Jackson Saves plan. Enrollment takes place at your child’s school, and many schools participate in student-run branches to make deposits a breeze! Jackson Saves accounts are housed at TRUE Community Credit Union, but technically it’s Jackson Community Foundation that is the member and the child is the beneficiary of the funds. Parents can be added to the account with a “contact record” for information purposes.

What is the difference between the Jackson Saves plan and a Youth Savings Account at TRUE Community Credit Union?

Jackson Saves Account:
Jackson Saves plan is a deposit-only account to fund education and training after high school. Children must opt-in as kindergarteners to be eligible. This is made available through the Jackson Community Foundation. Participation in the Jackson Savings Plan does not require membership with TRUECCU.

TRUE Community Credit Union Youth Savings Account:
TRUE Community Credit Union believes in students learning savings habits early, therefore we work extensively with students promoting our Youth Savings Accounts! These accounts make students members with TRUE and they keep these accounts throughout their lifetime!

If I don’t initially enroll my child in Jackson Saves during kindergarten enrollment, will I be able to enroll them later?

The Jackson Saves Program opt-in form is only available as part of the kindergarten enrollment process at your school. Students not enrolled during their kindergarten enrollment process will not be able to enroll later, unfortunately.
